Casa del Melograno of Venice is a welcoming facility that rents rooms in the historic centre, strategically located between the market area of Rialto and the train station of Santa Lucia, in a peaceful area of the picturesque neighborhood of Cannaregio close to Lista di Spagna and Strada Nuova, bustling streets for shopping and filled with local Venetial pubs and restaurants.

A short distance away from the San Marcuola stop of the steamboats on the Canal Grande, the Casa del Melograno neighbours with the casinò di Venezia (casino), Ca’ Vendramin Calergi. The facility is also close to theGhetto Ebraico di Venezia (Venice's Jewish Ghetto), to the famous auction house, Semenzato and to the Cinema Italia head office of the university Cà Foscari.

How to reach us

• • From the train station of Santa Lucia.
  By foot, you can reach the facility in only 10 minutes: once you exit the station go left, following the road straight ahead along the Lista di Spagna and Strada Nuova, filled with shops and restaurants/coffee shops. After crossing Ponte delle Guglie, continue straight on along Rio Terà San Leonardo, until you come to a bridge: cross it and take the first street to the right, by the directions for the casino; continue straight on until you reach the small square. From there turn right (you cannot do otherwise), a few metres from the canal you find the entrance to our facility.
  By steamboat: take boat n. 1 (for San Marco) and get off at the San Marcuola stop (about 4 minutes) From the harbour cross the street in front of you and then turn right; cross Ponte Storto that takes you to Fondamenta del Ponte Storto, where you will find the entrance of the facility. The walk from the harbour to the hotel is about 1 minute!
• • From the Marco Polo airport of Venice.
  You can reach Casa del Melograno with a private water taxi. Or, as a cheaper option, you can take the bus for Venezia Air Terminal or ACTV bus n. 5 and get to Piazzale Roma in about 20 minutes. From there you can take steamboat n. 1 and get off at the San Marcuola stop. From the harbour cross the street that is in front of you and turn right, cross the only bridge that you see (Ponte Storto). You are then right in front of the facility. The steamboat ride is about 4 minutes whilst you need less than 1 minute to get to your destination from the San Marcuola stop.
• • By car.
  Leave your car in the paying car park on Isola del Tronchetto or in Piazzale Roma. From Tronchetto take steamboat n. 2 that stops at San Marcuola (ask before getting on the boat) or, from Piazzale Roma take n. 1. In both cases, get off at San Marcuola. From the harbour cross the street in front of you, turn right, cross Ponte Storto (characteristic because it is not perpendicular with the canal), that will take you right in front of our entrance. The steamboat ride is about 4 minutes; once you get off at San Marcuola, all you need is a minute to get to your destination. Or, you can reach Casa del Melograno from Piazzale Roma with a ten minute walk.
